HIVE OF ACTIVITY: “I like the control, of making my own decisions. I love to talk to my customers. In the past, I’ve trained students here, too.”  

BUZZ ON THE GRAPEVINE: “I can repair the special shoes performers wear. When Janet Jackson was here, she sent over several pair of boots.”  

NEVER RETIRE: “I won’t retire soon, even at seventy-one. Today, people think about how much a job pays, not whether they like it. If you don’t like what you do, it’s bound to affect you.”  

LIKE WHAT YOU DO: When I was young, I joined the British air force, as part of the ground crew. But I returned to shoe repair. A man must do what makes him happy. It’s just common sense.”
